They named me Mina, and my last name was already set, so I kept it, hence Mina Hatami. I don't write poetry, my poems write me or write about me. My writings get a rhythm and a flow when I feel comfortable in my skin. Then there are times that I lose that freedom, I feel stuck, and unable to tell my story.
My education is in philosophy and public organizations. Coming from a culture that is heavily religious, and gender biased, philosophy gives me the skills to question anything and everything, to choose what I like, and reject what is peer pressure, and expectation. Currently I work for a non-profit financial institution.
As for interests, I like to paint, be outdoors, dance and write.
